Pastor’s Message

Mark 16:6-7 “Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him, just as he told you.”

Christ is Risen! Christ is Risen indeed! We shout these words of praise every Easter Sunday. Celebrating, like the disciples on the very first Easter, that Christ IS Risen!

Are you ready to celebrate? Are you ready to rejoice with your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ that Christ indeed is risen?

Think of all that there is to celebrate:

Jesus, the Son of God, the only sinless man, who was wrongfully crucified, is no longer dead but alive! He battled evil and conquered death, not just for his own sake, but for the sake of all of us.

Our sins are forgiven. All of them, thanks to Christ.

Death is not the end. Christ conquered death, meaning that when we die we have new life in the Kingdom of God where all of God’s people gather in peace.

God SERIOUSLY loves us. God’s love isn’t just some weightless word, it’s powerful and meaningful. So powerful and meaningful that he sent his only Son to die for us so that we can live for eternity.

Not only is the Lord we follow really awesome (read the Gospels, he’s awesome), but he’s REALLY the Lord of Lords, King of Kings, Hosanna, Immanuel, God-with-us, Messiah, Savior, and Redeemer.

We have more than a little to celebrate — we have everything to celebrate on Easter Sunday. So come to church, worship with us, and get ready to shout for joy!

Prayer: Almighty God, we thank you for sending us your son, Jesus. We thank you for life and for new life. We could spend every minute of every day thanking you for what you did through Christ our Lord. And it is in Christ’s name that we pray. Amen.

In Christ’s Love,

Pastor Elizabeth Duffy
